I'm looking to play just about any character HERE. I'd love a post-DH (especially for Ginny and Hermione) game or a First War game for my older characters (especially Bella and Rosmerta). What if they were real?
The myths and legends.
The things that go bump in the night.
What if they were just like you? |
Since the dawn of time they've been blamed for all of life's oddities. A strange noise? It must be a ghost. Pets mangled and eaten? Maybe a werewolf got them. That pale man that never ventures out in the day? A vampire, surely. Children behaving badly must be changelings, and that table had to have been forced into your path by a mischievous sprite, now giggling at your misfortune.
The list goes on. For each being, there are hundreds of tales, most pure delusion of course, though much of it based in fact.
From Nessie and Sasquatch to the Bermuda Triangle and the Land of Mu, our world is filled with the unattainable, the unexplainable... that which we call Myth, or Legend.
Yet, like the Will O' the Wisp, or the ghost breath that sends a shiver down your spine, the truth tugs softly at our conscience. Whispers in the dark of a boogeyman in the shadows, or a fairy spinning gossamer tales in the corners of your mind. They are real. And in so many ways... they are just like you. They work. They feed. They even have children. And just like humans, those children go to school.
School however, isn’t always as just classes and homework. Strange old castles often have far more lurking about them than is so readily apparent. Ancient curses have been set loose on the school. Memory loss. Sickness. Power switching... Was it an accident? Or are more sinister plans afoot? Unanswered questions abound as the students and staff first try and understand exactly what has happened to them...

Do you want to rewrite the past?
Were you unhappy with Deathly Hallows? Did the epilogue leave you shouting, "WHAT?!" Are you angry about what happened to Snape? Still upset that Sirius died in OotP? Do you simply feel let down, ripped off, betrayed, heartbroken, or just wistful over what could have been? Or maybe you loved the book, but you still don't want to see it all end?
With magic, almost anything is possible. We can change things. We have the power.

Operation Redo is an AU Harry Potter game that combines the Trio and Marauders eras by sending twelve students from the books into the past. We've been around since 2004, but now that there won't be any more new canon to throw us for a loop, we've decided to start over with a clean slate. Therefore, we have many characters up for adoption (see below). The game is het/slash/femslash/adult content friendly, though we concentrate on plot rather than 'ships.

Whispers in the dark of a boogeyman in the shadows, or a fairy spinning gossamer tales in the corners of your mind. They are real. And in so many ways... they are just like you. They work. They feed. They even have children. And just like humans, those children go to school.
School however, isn’t always as just classes and homework. Strange old castles often have far more lurking about them than is so readily apparent. Ancient curses have been set loose on the school. Memory loss. Sickness. Power switching... Was it an accident? Or are more sinister plans afoot? Unanswered questions abound as the students and staff first try and understand exactly what has happened to them...

 The Cure didn't work. So the government decided to step in and put it up a notch. The Mutant Registration Act was finally passed. All mutants are required to carry IDs stating their mutation or they would be arrested for breaking the law. Separate prisons were built for mutant criminals. The use of mutant powers in public not only incited riots, but now carries a minimum prison sentence of fifteen days.
The great activist of mutant rights, Charles Xavier is dead. Erik Lensherr is back, powerful then ever, with a new Brotherhood of Mutants behind him. The future looks like a bleak place to be for mutants, but Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters flourishes under Ororo Munroe, the new Headmistress. She, along with the mutant only known as Logan, educate the young mutants of tomorrow and provide a beacon of hope to the mutant community.
Xtended: An X-Men RPG is a movieverse game that pick up where X-Men: The Last Stand, left off. Ways to repair humans physiological functions, augmented or replaced, by electronic or electromechanical components. By rewiring nerves, or flexing another muscle, one was able to control a bionic appendage that made it possible to live a normal life. That opened the floodgates to approving Stem Cell research, generic cells that can make copies of themselves, and eventually those geneticists learned ways to not only create organs.. but skin. Brain matter. Emotions. Many people didn't think it was possible to create an artificial person, and have it perform human tasks as efficiently as someone trained all their life to do the same job. Sentient machines, Bionic Technology, and Human-like "robots" increasingly took on the less extravagant occupations of man. It was a concept that slowly made its way into the minds and lives of the world. Most notably, Japan where it flourished and was refined into a scientific art form. It was believed that one could make a unit think. And they did. They even made them feel...

| ORACLE is turning one year old today! | Join us in our celebration. We've recently moved to CommieJournal and started over as a canon-compliant game. You have the chance to play important characters with no additional backstory, like with brand-new games, but you also have the security of a long-running game with committed, experienced mods.
Oracle takes place in the year 2000, just a year and a half after Voldemort's defeat. We know what the future has in store for our characters in this canon-compliant game. The rocky road they'll take to that future is the real story and that's entirely up to you. |

In a world of mutant decimation and superhero registration, Cable brought together a new X-Force team to work for his vision of a better world in ways that the X-Men, as a publicly known and registered team, can no longer operate. To keep the team undercover from the cape killers, he also recruited super-musicians, bringing together the Resistance Tour, a controversial mutant rock tour. Balancing a cover job as part of a high profile celebrity entourage and covert operations to protect mutants from those who fear and hate them is all in a day's work when you're part of a Tour de Force.

Oracle is a post-war Harry Potter RPG set in 2000. | In a world without a Dark Lord, the Ministry of Magic appears to be the greatest threat to the citizens it serves. Oracle takes place only a year-and-a-half after Death Eaters seized control of the Ministry, imprisoning muggleborns. In their eagerness to leave that inauspicious past behind them, the Ministry has begun testing a new interdepartmental communications system using computers, hoping to appear progressive and muggle-friendly. Several of their employees, even war heroes and Death Eaters, have been given computers as part of the experiment. Oracle follows these characters' lives as they struggle to transform the Wizarding World into one that was worth saving.
| | Oracle is a drama-free haven for talented writers. | Oracle originally began in February of 2007 and lasted until December of that year before we decided to move to a new server and start over as a canon-compliant game. You can find version 1.0 here if you're interested, but it's not necessary and version 2.0 is, of course, very different. Oracle provides you the unique opportunity to join a new game that has no back story and very few taken characters, while still giving you the stability of an established game. We put an emphasis on quality and have no tolerance for OOC drama or poorly conceived Mary Sues.

It’s the year 2015 and Voldermort has been defeated a long time ago. It took the Ministry a very long time to reassemble and get back on its feet but not it’s up and running. Harry Potter never did die and Hogwarts is still open for business.
The focus of the RP is manly school life at Hogwarts. As the previous students have moved on they’ve also married and had children. They attend here and go through the same drama as any other teenager in the world.
